After that he went back to the US, but came back here after two years and in one year he achieved amazingly good results. I think now most people don't even notice that he's not a native unless they talk to him for a long time (because every now and then he says something vaguely awkward).. right now he's in the living room discussing politics in Italian with my mom :D. So here is my suggestion, come to Italy and speak! So here is a good excuse for taking a long trip to Italy! If you cannot do that, find a Berlitz home course and advertise for an Italian speaker to meet with to practice.
