I am 18, Is it too late to start learning Italian? is it a difficult language?

November 25th, 2009 | by admin |

I LOVE Italian and Italy. I am planning on living there after afew years. I am 18 now, soon to be 19. Is it too late for me to start learning a new language? How hard is Italian?

1. It’s not too late, it’s never too late when it comes to languages.

2. Italian is a really easy language for English speakers. It is (fairly) closely related to English and it’s grammar and vocabulary are easy. Don’t get me wrong though , any language requires a lot of work and will take a long time to learn.

Advice for you: Go for it. It’s a great choice.

Hope it helps.

No is not late and is not that hard…actually most of people find italian quite easy as you can write it without problem, the spell is easy and the verbs are wide but you use only a little part of them. Obviously if you speak english it will be harder than if you were french or spanish but still you can do it…i am italian and i have learned english only after long long years (for us is quite difficolt) and still i am not perfect..for you will be faster to learn italian as is much easier than english

it shouldn’t be hard. I suggest you to start NOW with the fantastic book Conversational Italian in Seven Days, by Shirley Baldwin and Sarah Boas. After a while of studying it, you’ll find Italian interesting and easy to study.

No it’s never too early to start a language, Italian is an easy language, it is very similar to Spanish. I reccomend using CD’s it’s easier to learn.

I myself am learning Japanese, and I found that it is easier to listen and repeat the word than to read it and sound it out.
