The grammar is no harder than French, and no noun declination as in Latin. Many words are very similar to French. The only problem I had when learning Italian was I ended up unlearning a bit of my rusty French, as at first my brain thought it was learning more French. If you know French well enough, you can probably pick up Italian and even Spanish pretty quickly.
