Get a conversation partner. Ask your headmaster for a few names of students who would be willing to meet with you for coffee to just sit and talk. It is a non threatening situation where you can work on conversing in German. Ask them to help you with words and your pronouciation. While studying in Germany I had a conversation partner. She was working on her English and I my German. We met once or twice a week and either spoke one language the entire time or split the time in half to practice both.
References :
I recommend Rosetta Stone .. it's a great program, if rather pricey. I would also guess that you could probably skip Vol. 1 and go straight to 2, since you are living in Germany now.

Just curious, where are you? I've hosted 12 exchange students, 3 Germans and was just there visiting!

Viel Gluck!

To Hallie: Nice sites -- I'm going to check them out too!
