What is an easy way to learn/assist with learning German?

I am a foreign exchange student and am really behind. The headmaster at my new german school didnt like my limited vocab. any place that can help me out?

I’m half German, and I do speak it well. The best thing to do is get a one on one teacher so he/she can test your pronunciation and you can ask questions and talk with him/her in German and practice. That help a lot. Maybe get a German computer CD so you can learn is faster by doing games. If you get a teacher, ask to give you a big list of vocabulary. That’s what my teacher did(mostly just verbs).

    I recommend Rosetta Stone .. it’s a great program, if rather pricey. I would also guess that you could probably skip Vol. 1 and go straight to 2, since you are living in Germany now.

    Just curious, where are you? I’ve hosted 12 exchange students, 3 Germans and was just there visiting!

    Get a conversation partner. Ask your headmaster for a few names of students who would be willing to meet with you for coffee to just sit and talk. It is a non threatening situation where you can work on conversing in German. Ask them to help you with words and your pronouciation. While studying in Germany I had a conversation partner. She was working on her English and I my German. We met once or twice a week and either spoke one language the entire time or split the time in half to practice both.
